ODC Secures MoHERI Funding for the Second Consecutive Time
We are proud to announce that Oman Dental College (ODC) has secured external research funding from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI) for the second year in a row. This funding, totalling 16,800 OMR, further solidifies our commitment to advancing dental research and innovation in alignment with national research priorities and MoHERI’s thematic focuses.
This remarkable achievement follows our successful first-time grant of 19,900 OMR, which resulted in the registration of a patent for a new restorative material developed in-house, setting a precedent for continued excellence in research funding acquisition. We are delighted to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of our project investigators for this MoHERI-funded initiative, led by Dr Triveni Nalawade as the Principal Investigator, alongside Dr Ayida Al Wahaibi, Dr Leenah Al Hinai, and Dr Sapna Dileesh. Their dedicated efforts have been instrumental in advancing this research project and securing the funding. The leadership and support provided by the Head of Postgraduate Education, Research & Innovation, Dr Abubaker Qutieshat, and the Interim Dean, Prof Mohamed Al Ismaili, have been instrumental in guiding the project to successful funding acquisition. Their strategic direction and commitment have greatly contributed to advancing this important research initiative.
The project aims to evaluate the oral health status of patients diagnosed with solid tumors and undergoing palliative care, in collaboration with the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Centre (SQCCCRC). We strive to provide comprehensive insights that will improve the quality of oral care for this patient population.
We extend our gratitude to the entire ODC community for their continued support as we work together to push the boundaries of dental research for a brighter and more innovative future.
